USA loses AAA credit rating as S&P downgrades due to runaway debt and governmentThe USA lost its long-coveted AAA debt rating late Friday as Standard & Poor’s downgraded the nation’s debt to AA+, citing out-of-control government spending and record budget deficits. This is something that key members of the Obama administration promised would never happen (…).

They were wrong, of course; just like the entire cabal of useless bureaucrats in Washington is wrong about what’s going to happen next. This downgrade of the debt rating by S&P, you see, is what NaturalNews and other alternative media leaders have been predicting and warning about for years. The U.S. government’s runaway debt spending, we warned, was entirely unsustainable. The risk of default is not merely high, but it’s actually so high that if S&P had any honesty, it would have downgraded U.S. debt to junk status years ago. (The fact that it’s still at AA+ is a mathematical joke.)

The flight away from US debt

Why does this debt rating matter? Consider, for starters, why S&P waited until after the markets closed on a Friday to even make its announcement. This gives Washington the weekend to try to figure out some kind of rescue plan before Monday morning when institutional investors around the world will begin what can only be called the mass flight away from U.S. debt. The great selloff will begin in earnest, and this will flood the open markets with toxic US debt that no one in their right mind would dare purchase.

Institutional investors, you see, are frequently bound by rules that require them to invest solely in AAA-rated debt sources. With S&P’s downgrade of U.S. Treasury debt, these institutions (which include some of the largest investment funds in the world) must, by their own rules, sell off 100% of their US debt holdings. This will all be happening at virtually the same time when the week opens on Monday.

The impact of all this is that the US will need to pay higher interest rates to issue new debt. It will be more expensive, in other words, for the US to find buyers of its debt, and this will be very quickly reflected in thecompounding debt burden tacked on the total national debt, which is currently at $14.5 trillion and counting (

Since every administration in the White House absolutely refuses to cut government spending — and the Obama administration wants to INCREASE it! — the government is forced to keep issuing more debt at higher interest rates.

This brings me to the rule of 72.

Compounding debt interest adds up quickly

The rule of 72 provides a simple way to calculate how long it takes for money to double when subjected to compounding interest. Simply take 72 divided by the annual interest rate, and that tells you the number of yearsnecessary for the money (or in this case, the debt) to double.

For example, if you loan me $10,000 and you charge a 7% interest rate, then using the rule of 72, I know that in roughly ten years, I will owe you double what you loaned me, or $20,000.

If you loan me $10,000 and you charge me a 10% interest rate, then I know I’ll owe you $20,000 in 7 years.

At a 12% interest rate, compounding debt doubles every six years.

As compounding interest rates rise, the acceleration of the total debt owes grows very rapidly. So even a tiny increase in the interest rate on debt will result in a compounding accelerated growth in the total debt burden. With S&P downgrading the US debt rating to AA+, the interest rate the US Treasury will now be forced to pay on the debt will be higher than it was before, and this means we are now facing an accelerated financial blowout schedule.

A nation brought to its knees by government crooks and tyrants

The financial demise of the US government, in other words, is now significantly closer than it was two days ago. The fiscally corrupt American empire cannot survive without its false AAA debt rating. That’s why this debt downgrade will accelerate the total debt default we’ve been warning about for years.

The US government today, of course, is run by liars and thieves, crooks and thugs. Virtually every word uttered by the White House Press Secretary is a complete fabrication. Everything you’re being told from official sources about the US debt is a bald-faced lie. The US debt is a giant Ponzi scheme that’s about to come tumbling down in a complete financial wreck. We warned you this was coming, even as internet trolls claimed it was impossible for the US to default on its debt. Impossible? Then why did it nearly happen just last week?

People like Gerald Celente and Paul Craig Roberts have been right about the coming debt implosion, which is why the mainstream media largely refuses to talk to them. Only the alternative media has the guts to report the truth about the impending financial collapse the US government now unquestionably faces.

Even the US Postal Service has financially collapsed and has just announced it is in default (…).

Do we even have two years remaining?

S&P says it will revisit the US debt situation in two more years and possibly downgrade the debt rating to AA at that time (…). Two years? Are you kidding? I’m not even sure the US government as we know it today will exist at all in two years. And even if it does, things can only get worse because the runaway debt spending will never be halted. Washington is in a spending blowout phase that looks a whole lot like the waning days of the Roman Empire as it tried to service its military imperialism even while its own politicians at home had all become deeply invested in corruption.

As the US spirals into a total financial collapse, you can expect a rise of the police state just as we’re seeing right now with the Rawesome Foods raid (…). As any empire begins to collapse, it pulls out the guns to try to keep its citizens in line. Free Speech is stripped away from citizens (…) and law is abandoned in favor of total government tyranny against the People.

That’s precisely what we’re seeing in America today, with the ATF’s illegal gun running (…), the FDA’s illegal raids on vitamin manufacturers, the USDA’s total betrayal of public health as it conspires with GMO companies to unleash massive genetic contamination across our planet, and so on. We are watching the last desperate gasps of a dying corrupt empire — an empire that can no longer survive by telling the truth so has turned instead to insidious lies and a total assault on freedom.

History will call this time “the beginning of the collapse of the American empire.” You are living it, folks. It’s a fascinating time to be alive. Just try not to get crushed when this once-great empire comes crumbling down all around you. Very few people are prepared for what’s coming. Perhaps 99% of the American people are completely and utterly clueless about all this. They will not be happy when they wake up one day and find out the dollar has been devalued, abandoned or massively hyper-inflated. That’s the day you don’t want to find yourself thinking “Gee, maybe I should have gotten prepared a little sooner…”

Supplanting the United States Constitution:War,National Emergency and “Continuity of Government”

In July 1987,during the Iran-Contra Hearings grilling of Oliver North,the American public got a glimpse of “highly sensitive” emergency planning North had been involved in. Ostensibly these were emergency plans to suspend the American constitution in the event of a nuclear attack (a legitimate concern). But press accounts alleged that the planning was for a more generalized suspension of the constitution.As part of its routine Iran-contra coverage,the following exchange was printed in the New York Times,but without journalistic comment or follow-up:

[Congressman Jack] Brooks:Colonel North,in your work at the N.S.C. were you not assigned,at one time,to work on plans for the continuity of government in the event of a major disaster?

Both North’s attorney and Sen. Daniel Inouye,the Democratic Chair of the Committee,responded in a way that showed they were aware of the issue:

Brendan Sullivan [North’s counsel,agitatedly]:Mr. Chairman?

[Senator Daniel] Inouye:I believe that question touches upon a highly sensitive and classified area so may I request that you not touch upon that?

Brooks: I was particularly concerned,Mr. Chairman,because I read in Miami papers,and several others,that there had been a plan developed,by that same agency,a contingency plan in the event of emergency,that would suspend the American constitution. And I was deeply concerned about it and wondered if that was an area in which he had worked. I believe that it was and I wanted to get his confirmation.

Inouye:May I most respectfully request that that matter not be touched upon at this stage. If we wish to get into this,I’m certain arrangements can be made for an executive session.[1]

But we have never heard if there was or was not an executive session,or if the rest of Congress was ever aware of the matter. According to James Bamford,“The existence of the secret government was so closely held that Congress was completely bypassed.”[2] (Key individuals in Congress were almost certainly aware.)

Brooks was responding to a story by Alfonzo Chardy in the Miami Herald. Chardy’s story alleged that Oliver North was involved with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in plans  to take over federal,state and local functions during a national emergency. This planning for “Continuity of Government” (COG) called for “suspension of the Constitution,turning control of the government over to the Federal Emergency Management Agency,emergency appointment of military commanders to run state and local governments and declaration of martial law.”[3]

To my knowledge no one in the public (including myself) attached enough importance to the Chardy story. Chardy himself suggested that Reagan’s Attorney General,William French Smith,had intervened to stop the COG plan from being presented to the President. Seven years later,in 1994,Tim Weiner reported in the New York Times that what he called “The Doomsday Project” – the search for “ways to keep the Government running after a sustained nuclear attack on Washington” –had “less than six months to live.”[4]

To say that nuclear attack planning was over was correct,But this statement was also very misleading. On the basis of Weiner’s report,the first two books on COG planning,by James Bamford and James Mann,books otherwise excellent and well-informed, reported that COG planning had been abandoned.[5] They were wrong.

Mann and Bamford did report that,from the beginning,two of the key COG planners on the secret committee were Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld,the two men who implemented COG under 9/11.[6] What they and Weiner did not report was that under Reagan the purpose of COG planning had officially changed:it was no longer for arrangements “after a nuclear war,” but for any “national security emergency.”This was defined in Executive Order 12656 of 1988 as:“any occurrence,including natural disaster,military attack,technological emergency,or other emergency,that seriously degrades or seriously threatens the national security of the United States.”[7]

In other words extraordinary emergency measures,originally designed for an America devastated in a nuclear attack,were now to be applied to anything the White House considered an emergency. Thus Cheney and Rumsfeld continued their secret planning when Clinton was president;both men,both Republicans,were heads of major corporations and not even in the government at that time. Moreover,Andrew Cockburn claims that the Clinton administration,according to a Pentagon source,had “no idea what was going on.”[8] (As I shall explain later,this sweeping claim needs some qualification.)

The Patriot Act Roots Go Deep

The expanded application of COG to any emergency was envisaged as early as 1984,when,according to Boston Globe reporter Ross Gelbspan,

Lt. Col. Oliver North was working with officials of the Federal Emergency Management Agency … to draw up a secret contingency plan to surveil political dissenters and to arrange for the detention of hundreds of thousands of undocumented aliens in case of an unspecified national emergency. The plan,part of which was codenamed Rex 84,called for the suspension of the Constitution under a number of scenarios,including a U.S. invasion of Nicaragua.[9]

Clearly 9/11 met the conditions for the imposition of COG measures,and we know for certain that COG planning was instituted on that day in 2001,before the last plane had crashed in Pennsylvania. The 9/11 Report confirms this twice,on pages 38 and 326.[10] It was under the auspices of COG that Bush stayed out of Washington on that day,and other government leaders like Paul Wolfowitz were swiftly evacuated to Site R,inside a hollowed out mountain near Camp David.[11]

What few have recognized is that,nearly a decade later,some aspects of COG remain in effect. COG plans are still authorized by a proclamation of emergency that has been extended each year by presidential authority,most recently by President Obama in September 2009. COG plans are also the probable source for the 1000-page Patriot Act presented to Congress five days after 9/11,and also for the Department of Homeland Security’s Project Endgame —a ten-year plan, initiated in September 2001,to expand detention camps,at a cost of $400 million in Fiscal Year 2007 alone.[12]

At the same time we have seen the implementation of the plans outlined by Chardy in 1987:the warrantless detentions that Oliver North had planned for in Rex 1984,the warrantless eavesdropping that is their logical counterpart,and the militarization of the domestic United States under a new military command,NORTHCOM.[13]  Through NORTHCOM the U.S. Army now is engaged with local enforcement to control America, in the same way that through CENTCOM it is engaged with local enforcement to control Afghanistan and Iraq.

We learned that COG planning was still active in 2007,when President Bush issued National Security Presidential Directive 51 (NSPD 51). This,for the sixth time,extended for one year the emergency proclaimed on September 14,2001. It empowered the President to personally ensure “continuity of government”in the event of any “catastrophic emergency.”He announced that NSPD 51 contains “classified Continuity Annexes”which shall “be protected from unauthorized disclosure.”Under pressure from his 911truth constituents,Congressman Peter DeFazio of the Homeland Security Committee twice requested to see these Annexes,the second time in a letter signed by the Chair of his committee. His request was denied.

The National Emergencies Act, one of the post-Watergate reforms that Vice-President Cheney so abhorred, specifies that:“Not later than six months after a national emergency is declared,and not later than the end of each six-month period thereafter that such emergency continues,each House of Congress shall meet to consider a vote on a joint resolution to determine whether that emergency shall be terminated” (50 U.S.C. 1622,2002). Yet in nine years Congress has not once met to discuss the State of Emergency declared by George W. Bush in response to 9/11,a State of Emergency that remains in effect today. Appeals to the Congress to meet its responsibilities to review COG have fallen on deaf ears.[14]

Former Congressman Dan Hamburg and I appealed publicly last year,both to Obama to terminate the emergency, and to Congress to hold the hearings required of them by statute.[15] But Obama,without discussion,extended the 9/11 Emergency again on September 10,2009;[16] and Congress has continued to ignore its statutory obligations. One Congressman explained to a constituent that the provisions of the National Emergencies Act have now been rendered inoperative by COG. If true,this would seem to justify Chardy’s description of COG as suspension of the Constitution. Are there other parts of the Constitution that have been suspended? We do not know,and the Chair of the Homeland Security Committee has been told he cannot find out.

Plans drafted by a secret committee,including corporation heads not in the government,have provided rules that allegedly override public law and the separation of powers that is at the heart of the Constitution. Congress is derelict in addressing this situation. Even Congressman Kucinich,the one Congressman I have met,will not answer my communications on this subject.

Yet as I see it,the only authorization for the COG planning was a secret decision by President Reagan (NSDD 55 of September 14,1982) which in effect federalized the counterinsurgency planning (called Cable Splicer),which he had authorized in California when governor there.

It is clear that the planning by Cheney,Rumsfeld and others in the last two decades was not confined to an immediate response to 9/11. The 1000-page Patriot Act,dropped on Congress as promptly as the Tonkin Gulf Resolution had been back in 1964,is still with us; Congress has never seriously challenged it,and Obama quietly extended it on February 27 of this year.

We should not forget that the Patriot Act was only passed after lethal anthrax letters were mailed to two crucial Democratic Senators  – Senators Daschle and Leahy – who had initially questioned the bill. After the anthrax letters,however,they withdrew their initial opposition.[17] Someone —we still do not know who – must have planned those anthrax letters well in advance. This is a fact most Americans do not want to think about.

Someone also must have planned the unusual number of war games taking place on 9/11. COG planners and FEMA had been involved in war games planning over the previous two decades;and on 9/11 FEMA was again involved with other agencies in preparing for Operation Tripod,a bioterrorism exercise in New York City. [18]

Someone also must have planned the new more restrictive instructions,on June 1,2001,determining that military interceptions of hijacked aircraft had to be approved “at the highest levels of government” (i.e. the President,Vice-President,or Secretary of Defense).[19] The Report attributes this order to a JCS Memo of June 1,2001,entitled “Aircraft Piracy (Hijacking) and Destruction of Derelict Airborne Objects.” But the written requirements had been less restrictive before June 1,2001,and I am informed that the change was quietly revoked the following December.

In The Road to 9/11 I suggest the change in the JCS memo came from the National Preparedness Review in which President Bush authorized Vice-President Cheney,together with FEMA, “to tackle the…task of dealing with terrorist attacks.”[20] Not noticed by the press was the fact that Cheney and FEMA had already been working on COG planning as a team throughout the 1980s and 1990s.[21]

As I wrote above,it is necessary to qualify a Pentagon official’s claim (to author Andrew Cockburn) that the Clinton administration had “no idea what was going on” in COG.  Let me quote from my response to Cockburn’s book in my own,The Road to 9/11:

[Weiner’s] article persuaded authors James Mann and James Bamford that Reagan’s COG plans had now been abandoned,because “there was,it seemed,no longer any enemy in the world capable of … decapitating America’s leadership.” [22] In fact,however,only one phase of COG planning had been terminated,a Pentagon program for response to a nuclear attack. Instead,according to author Andrew Cockburn,a new target was found:

Although the exercises continued,still budgeted at over $200 million a year in the Clinton era,the vanished Soviets were now replaced by terrorists… . There were other changes,too. In earlier times the specialists selected to run the “shadow government” had been drawn from across the political spectrum, Democrats and Republicans alike. But now,down in the bunkers,Rumsfeld found himself in politically congenial company,the players’ roster being filled almost exclusively with Republican hawks… .“You could say this was a secret government-in-waiting. The Clinton administration was extraordinarily inattentive,[they had] no idea what was going on.”

Cockburn’s account requires some qualification. Richard Clarke,a Clinton Democrat, makes it clear that he participated in the COG games in the 1990s and indeed drafted Clinton ’s Presidential Decision Directive (PDD) 67 on “Enduring Constitutional Government and Continuity of Government.” But COG planning involved different teams for different purposes. It is quite possible that the Pentagon official was describing the Department of Defense team dealing with retaliation.

The Pentagon official’s description of a “secret government-in-waiting” (which still included both Cheney and Rumsfeld) is very close to the standard definition of a cabal,as a group of persons secretly united to bring about a change or overthrow of government. In the same era Cheney and Rumsfeld projected change also by their public lobbying,through the Project for the New American Century,for a more militant Middle East policy. In light of how COG was actually implemented in 2001,one can legitimately suspect that,however interested this group had been in continuity of government under Reagan,under Clinton the focus of Cheney’s and Rumsfeld’s COG planning was now a change of government.[23]

Understandably there is great psychological resistance to the extraordinary claim that Cheney and Rumsfeld, even when not in government,were able to help plan successfully for constitutional modifications,which they themselves implemented when back in power. Most people cannot bring themselves even to believe the second,known half of this claim:that on September 11,2001,COG plans overriding the constitution were indeed implemented. This is why the first two print reviews of The Road to 9/11,both favorable and intelligently written,both reported that I speculated that COG had been imposed on 9/11. No,it was not a speculation: the 9/11 Commission Report twice confirms that COG was instituted on the authority of a phone call between Bush and Cheney of which they could find no record. No record,I did speculate,because it took place on a secure COG phone outside the presidential bunker – with such a high classification that the 9/11 Commission was never supplied the phone records.

A footnote in the 9/11 Report says

“The 9/11 crisis tested the U.S. government’s plans and capabilities to ensure the continuity of constitutional government and the continuity of government operations. We did not investigate this topic,except as needed to understand the activities and communications of key officials on 9/11. The Chair,Vice Chair,and senior staff were briefed on the general nature and implementation of these continuity plans.[24]

The other footnotes confirm that no information from COG files was used to document the 9/11 report. At a minimum these files might resolve the mystery of the missing phone call which simultaneously authorized COG,and (in consequence) determined that Bush should continue to stay out of Washington . I suspect that they might tell us a great deal more.

What is the first step out of this current state of affairs,in which the constitution has in effect been superseded by a higher,if less legitimate authority? I submit that it is to get Congress to do what the law requires,and determine whether our present proclamation of emergency “shall be terminated” (50 U.S.C. 1622,2002).

An earlier polite,judiciously worded appeal to this effect failed. It may be necessary to raise the issue in a larger,albeit more controversial context:the scandal that a small cabal was able to supersede the Constitution,and Congress has failed, despite repeated requests,to do anything about it. I would hope that Americans concerned about this matter would raise it with all the congressional candidates in the forthcoming elections. At a minimum, candidates should promise to call for a full discussion of the proclaimed national emergency,as the law requires.

Hollywood begins mass brainwashing campaign to get people ready for the next bioengineered virus release

The entertainment industry is no stranger to government propaganda campaigns, and the latest Hollywood flicks are no exception. A quick look at the trailer for the upcoming release of the movie Contagion(…) reveals what appears to be a massive brainwashing campaign designed to prepare the American psyche for the next intentional release of a bioengineered virus — and it also conveniently and subtly programs viewers into accepting the idea that vaccines might be the solution to a major, devastating disease outbreak.

If you look back at the themes of majormovie releases over the past several decades and compare them to what ends up taking place in the real world not too long after, it becomes eerily clear that Hollywood is deeply connected to the agendas of those that are now in control of various world governments, including the US government.

Many, if not most, movies released today appear to be nothing more than psychological manipulation designed to either dull the minds of the peopleinto accepting a certain agenda, or to literally condition people’s minds for upcoming disastrous events.

Armageddon movie conditioned public for September 11, 2001, attacks

If this sounds like crazy talk to you, consider a few examples of pre-9/11 warnings. In the 1998 movie Armageddon, there is an ominous scene where, upon hitting terrible New York City traffic, a taxi driver tells his passengers that the reason for it could have been a “terrorist bomb.”

A few moments later, the World Trade Center towers appear on the screen greatly damaged from having been hit by asteroids. And at another point in the movie, a space ship countdown clock is shown stuck in the “9:11″ position. You can view a clip containing these scenes here:…

Is all this just a coincidence? Perhaps. But the fact that in the movie Saddam Hussein is blamed for the “attacks,” the damaged twin towers appear oddly similar to the way they actually appeared years later on 9/11 prior to their collapse, and the countdown clock is stuck in the “9:11″ position, point to concerted preconditioning efforts to the actual event that would take place just a few years later.

If the Armageddon example is not enough, consider the following additional references to 9/11 in various movies and television shows:

– In the movie The Matrix, which was released in 1999, a discreet image of a passport belonging to Mr. Thomas A. Anderson, aka “Neo,” shows an expiration date of September 11, 2001. Even more interesting is the fact that this image appears at 18 minutes and 11 seconds into the movie, which translates into 8 + 1 = 9, followed by the 11 (…).

– In the movie Pearl Harbor, which was also released in 1999, the results of the Ben Affleck character’s eye exam read a clear “911.” The Pearl Harbor event itself, of course, was a surprise military strike against the US by the Imperial Japanese Navy (…). Coincidence?

– In an episode of the popular television show The Simpsons that aired in 1997, the premise involves Homer Simpson having to go retrieve his illegally-parked car from the World Trade Center.

Lisa Simpson is seen holding up a brochure with an advertisement for $9 bus rides to New York City, and the “9″ is positioned right next to the two towers, which together appear as “911.” The episode also happened to be season 9, episode 1 (…).

Popular media has been hinting at a deadly virusoutbreak for years

Based on the positioning of what appear to be 9/11 hints prior to the actual event, it appears that one of the next disastrous events on the agenda will be a deadly bio-warfare pandemic of some sort.

The movie Contagion, as well as numerous others in recent years including the 1995 movie Outbreak and the 2009 movie 2012, just to name a few, all seem to be pointing to the release of a deadly virus that will kill millions of people.

Even the media has had a hankering for deadly viruses over the past several years. In 2009, it was the great swine flu / H1N1 scare (…). And prior to that, it was the deadly bird flu epidemic (…).

Perhaps it is all just one giant coincidence, and there really is no deliberate plan to release deadly, bioengineered viruses. But if mainstream news and entertainment media really is laced with psychological warnings about future events, it is important to take careful note of them now in order to be as prepared as possible.

Appearing on MSNBC, former senator and Florida governor Bob Graham said at least two of the purported 9/11 hijackers had assistance from Saudi Arabia. Graham’s recently released novel, Keys to the Kingdom, implicates the Saudis. He told MSNBC to novel is based on factual information.

Graham said there are a lot of unanswered questions surrounding the role played by Saudi Arabia. He also asked why the government prevented Congress from obtaining information on the September 11, 2011, attack and its relationship to Saudi Arabia.

Bombshell: Saudi and U.S. Governments Protected HijackersIn 2009, the Bush administration refused to release a congressional report alleging possible links between Saudi Arabian officials and the hijackers. Bush said he could not comply with a request by the Saudi foreign minister for a chance to clear the Arab kingdom’s name because publication of the report could hurt U.S. intelligence operations, according to news reports.

Sources revealed that a redacted section of the report describes a money trail between Saudi Arabia and supporters of al-Qaeda.

Graham failed to mention that the CIA and Pakistan’s ISI also funded groups in Afghanistan that would ultimately be called al-Qaeda. This relationship is one likely reason Bush withheld information on the attacks from Congress.

“Between 1978 and 1992, the US government poured at least US$6 billion (some estimates range as high as $20 billion) worth of arms, training and funds to prop up the mujaheddin factions,” writes Norm Dixon. “Other Western governments, as well as oil-rich Saudi Arabia, kicked in as much again. Wealthy Arab fanatics, like Osama bin Laden, provided millions more.”

The U.S. Afghanistan policy was formulated by Jimmy Carter’s national security advisor, Zbigniew Brzezinski, and was continued by his successors. “His plan went far beyond simply forcing Soviet troops to withdraw,” Dixon notes, “rather it aimed to foster an international movement to spread Islamic fanaticism into the Muslim Central Asian Soviet republics to destabilize the Soviet Union.”

It was also used after September 11, 2001, to rationalize the war on terror and propagandize a threat by radical Islam.

Graham’s book and his assertion that the U.S. covered-up for the Saudis and protected the purported hijackers should be used to press for another investigation of the September 11 attacks.

Obama Prepares for Dictatorship

The heightened activity in the aftermath of the Norway terror attack indicates the kind of atmosphere where Obama would attempt a dictatorial coup. Everything we do in the coming period will be done to consolidate the forces to prevent that by removing Obama from office without any doubts or second-guesses.

Those who supported Obama’s fascist coup, have committed high treason. As of today, the House has conceded its legally mandated power to a Hitler dictatorship. Our last and final defense against this coup, is full and total commitment to the sudden restoration of Glass-Steagall.

The means Obama used to ram through the “deficit bill”, the Budget Control Act, is parallel to the process by which Hitler established his dictatorship. Is this the past repeating itself? No – today it is much worse.

The paradigm is the same. Only the lexicon has changed.

While everyone else has been following the debt ceiling debate in Washington. I knew how it was going to turn out almost before it started. I was certain we would end up with some version of Wimpy’s “I’ll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today.” phrase from the old Popeye the Sailor cartoons: And that’s exactly what we ended up with.

The President got his $2.4 trillion spending increase to carry him to 2013: And there’s no denying that is exactly what this raising of the debt ceiling means. Literally every administration official has repeated this line. The translation is that this administration means to cozy up to that new limit sometime in the next sixteen months. So the real question is: Why even have a debt limit if we intend to blow through same said limit with malice of forethought?

I’ll not bother to comb through the details of this current piece of legislation as fellow  Intellectual Conservative author Steven Laib has done yeoman’s work in that regard. The only observation I’d like to leave with readers is that this turkey of a deal, oddly enough, all began with the two major parties playing the ideological equivalent of a game of chicken. Only in Washington could politicians begin with chicken and create turkey! It’s like a Republican saying; “I have a really crappy idea!” and then a Democrat retorts; “And I can make that idea even crappier!” complements to comedian Lewis Black.

Since I had already predicted the outcome of this debacle for myself; I decided to focus on the rhetoric being generated during this catastrophe. I don’t mind telling everyone that I wasn’t in the least bit disappointed.

It is, by now, conventional wisdom that the progressive left has been casting about looking for the ultimate pejorative with which to broad brush the T.E.A. Party. In 2009 then House Speaker Nancy ‘National Mama’ Pelosi described us as ‘astro-turf’ proving at once the Freudism that progressives will most readily accuse their ideological opponents of doing what they would be most willing to do themselves. Can anyone say Wisconsin?

While the paradigm has stayed mind-numbingly the same, the lexicon has been accelerating in tandem with the popularity of the T.E.A. Party.  The next phase was to invent the depreciatory title of ‘teabagger’.  Oh, did the left ever have a good time with that one!  For months you couldn’t turn on MSBC or HBO without Chris Matthews or Bill Maher treating us to endless renditions of oratory containing this invective.  For me, the most humorous aspect of all this was that it was so completely outside the experience of the very people they intended to incite with this language. They themselves were the only ones’, if you’ll excuse the phrase, that were intimate with the expression. I found myself ROTFLMAO each time I heard one of these smug pundits deliver this nostrum.

The next attempt was to paint the T.E.A. Party as inherently a group of violent racists. (Probably the most shopworn progressive accusation ever conceived.) This began as far back as March of 2010 when the aforementioned ‘National Mama’ Pelosi and her traitorous bunch of cohorts decided to deliberately traipse through a group of T.E.A. Party protestors in Washington in hopes of deliberately inciting somebody, anybody, to violence during the health care vote. African American Congressional Representative Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.) accused T.E.A. Party activists of spitting on him; although when asked to do so, he couldn’t produce any pictorial evidence of the event despite the plethora of cell-phone cameras and the prodigious amount of digital video recordings made by the MSM. To my knowledge, he’s never withdrawn the accusation despite the dearth of evidence to support his contention.  Interestingly enough, no evidence appeared even when Andrew Breitbart offered a significant reward for anyone bringing it forward.

Remember Joseph Stack? The progressive left combed exhaustively through his 34 paragraph ramblings in vain looking for a T.E.A. Party connection. The closest they could come was the declaration by Jonathan Capehart that he was; “…struck by how his alienation is similar to that we’re hearing from the extreme elements of the Tea Party movement.” A real reach indeed as I fail to recall exactly where in his diatribe Joseph Stack called for Washington to stop spending money they didn’t have. They likewise tried to connect Jared Lee Loughner; the person who shot Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, to the movement without success.

Now we’ve arrived at the current timeframe. During the just-ended debt ceiling battle in Washington we have one progressive pundit after another openly shaking their heads at T.E.A. Party Congressmen and Congresswomen because they just cannot wrap their ideology around the idea the representatives would;

A.   Come to Washington to actually represent the constituents that elected them. (Gasp!)

B.    Actually stand on a principle and not budge. (Double gasp!)

C.    Not be cajoled, threatened, nor browbeaten into selling out either A. or B.

Whatever is a progressive to do now? They certainly cannot belittle these people as so hopelessly out-of-touch that they actually hold to either a promise or principle. Such an allegation probably wouldn’t fool anyone and might even backfire among some of the more educated independents. They had to come up with something to allow them to continue to paint these citizen legislators, throwbacks to an earlier age, as extremists.

So, they label these persons as ‘unfit to govern a la Chris Van Hollen (Rep, D-Md.) who said as much. Or how about our Vice President Joe Biden; who said the T.E.A. Party representatives had; “…acted like terrorists.” MSNBC pundit Chris Matthews accused T.E.A. Party representatives of being the; “scary Wahhabis of American Government.” Or Bob Beckel who has been doing his level best to coin the phrase “T.E.A. Terrorist Party” on Fox News.

Such rhetoric is actually laughable when you consider the fact that these ad hominem attacks are all originating from people who cannot ever identify an ACTUAL terrorist as a terrorist. “The Palestinians are actually an oppressed people! The Taliban are actually freedom fighters! If we could just talk with al Qaeda, we could reach a mutual understanding.” Really?

I’m going to leave my progressive friends with a last thought. This one, boys and girls, is a freebie; it’s on the house. I don’t have any problem with sharing this insight with you as I am certain all ya’ll are too hubristic to take advice from anyone, let alone a T.E.A. Party Terrorist like me.

Each and every time one of your ilk gets in front of a camera and/or a microphone and wails, rends their garments, and declares that they are the only thing standing between the T.E.A. Party’s destruction of America and the sanity of progressivism we get a tingle up our leg!

The more shrill and outlandish the invective, the more certain we are that we’re having the proper effect. See, we broke the code long ago. We know that you reserve the most vicious of attacks for those persons or groups you most fear. This is exactly why all ya’ll loved John McCain so much in 2008. You wanted him as the Republican challenger because you knew that against him even the most vacuous progressive candidate; and let’s face it kids, no one was more vacuous than Barack Obama, could win the election.

You hate Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann. Why? Because they truly frighten you. Because they are independent women that have raised families and conquered political careers as well. Women whose names would be your rallying cry as to what true feminists could be if only they weren’t damn conservatives! Believe me: I’ll take the likes (and the looks) of a Sarah Palin or a Michele Bachmann over a Hillary Clinton or a Nancy Pelosi any day!

The more you caterwaul, scream, and threaten; the more successful we know we’ve become. Nothing motivates us more than to see a member of the progressive wing of the Democratic Party going absolutely apoplectic in public!

So keep up the vilification; please. The more you rant the more effective I promise we’ll grow to be. All ya’ll are done in 2012.

Report: North Carolina nuclear facility with superheated uranium leaking ten gallons of radioactive cooling water per hour

A nuclear research reactor at North Carolina State University (NCSU) in Raleigh, NC, was recently shut down after it was discovered that the plant has been leaking about ten gallons of nuclear cooling water per hour for at least the past week. Officials from the university, however, claim that the leak, which stems from the 15,000 gallons of water used to cool the superheated uranium reactor core, poses “no public health threat.”

The announcement comes on the heels of several others involving US nuclear plants, including the potentially ill-fated Fort Calhoun Nuclear facility near Omaha, Neb. (…), and the Los Alamos National Laboratory that was threatened by wildfires last week (…). In the NC case, reports do not indicate why radioactive cooling water is leaking from the facility, but its operators insist, just like the experts associated with the other nuclear plants are doing, that everything is just fine.

“The leak is the size of a pinhead,” said NCSU spokeswoman Caroline Barnhill concerning the incident, in an attempt to quell concern. The school insists that the radioactive water poses no threat whatsoever to humans or to the environment because exposure to it is allegedly the equivalent of undergoing an X-ray. The school also says that because the leak is under 350 gallons per hour, it did not even have to notify the public about it (but decided to anyway).

It is interesting how every time there is a radioactive discrepancy, experts insist that it is harmless — and they almost always, especially in recent days, refer to it as being no different than an X-ray.

Do not worry, they say, it is just like getting an X-ray. Radioactive water is leaking from a nuclear facility? No worries — it is no different than an X-ray.

Even in Japan, just after the massive earthquake and tsunami hit Fukushima, experts basically ordered people not to worry because the radioactive fallout was no different than “a chest X-ray,” they falsely said (…).

If radiation was not the serious, deadly substance that it is, such idiotic propositions about its safety would be humorous. Every disaster, after all, whether it is a small water leak or a three-core nuclear meltdown, ends up being the equivalent of an X-ray and nothing more. And as silly as it sounds, experts routinely use the line about X-rays in their attempts to placate the public and rock it back to sleep.

Reports do not indicate very many details about the situation at NCSU, other than to denounce that it is of any danger whatsoever. But clearly this statement alone is untrue based on the X-ray explanation, because X-rays themselves are dangerous and are known to cause cancer (

So to suggest that the radioactive water leak in NC poses absolutely no threat is itself a lie by default. And if experts are willing to lie about the little things, there is no telling what else they might be hiding from the public.
